Arizona Fire Agate
Fire agates are one of the most beautiful
yet undervalued gems in existence. They are only found
in a small area of Arizona, Southern California, and Mexico.
Fire agates make wonderful rings, pendants, or bola ties.
Recently, other items have been erroneously sold as fire
agates, although they are not. Sometimes they are called
"crab fire agate". They are often sold as beads. These
imitators can be recognized by the crackly appearance of the
surface. Often, the sellers don't realize they are not
selling true fire agate.
True fire agates are very difficult to cut property, because
of the botryoidal, or grape-like, shape of
the surface. They are not cut into beads.
Almost all of our fire agates come
from the Deer Creek area of Arizona.
