Coprolite Fossils

Coprolite is fossilized dinosaur dung
or droppings. It's considered a "trace fossil". Scientists
often study coprolite to determine the diets of dinosaurs,
ancient fish, or early man. The coprolite we offer is
roughly 65 million years old.
Coprolites often have wonderful swirl patterns that are not
found in stones. These patterns make them
ideal for cabs or jewelry work. If you click on the thumbnails below you'll
see larger photos that display some of these patterns.

Coprolite Plaques For Display Or Education
These coprolite plaques are great for
education or display. Each piece of coprolite is mounted
on a 5 1/4" x 5 3/4" wood plaque and includes an informational
card. The cards are held on with double-stick tape, so
they can be removed if you prefer.
The stones and plaques have been lacquered.
Some of these pieces have beautiful swirl
patterns. The coprolites have been rounded by millions of
years of wear from the waters of the Colorado River.
They could be removed from the plaques and cut
into great cabs.
Each plaque is priced at just $14.99.
